The UIAA Global Youth Summit is holding a unique event in Nepal in September which will include a trek to Everest Base Camp and meetings with prominent Nepalese climbers.

The trek takes in some of the world's most famous mountain scenery passing Ama Dablam on route to Everest Base Camp and its spectacular ‘horseshoe’ of Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse.
The aim of the trek is manifold:
  • Set new rock routes and boulder problems
  • Take part in high altitude and youth lecture – Himalayan Rescue Association

  • Discover ice climbing in Asia and how to organize ice climbing events
  • Take part in an ecological action and school visit on route
  • Contribute to mountaineering and mountain communities in Nepal
  • Exchange mountaineering and climbing know-how

This UIAA Global Youth Summit (GYS) event is supported by the North Face (Nepal), ARISF, UIAA Youth, Himalayan Rescue Association and endorsed by the Nepal Mountaineering Association. Asian Trekking Ltd is providing two free places.
The GYS is the name for UIAA Youth Events that promote peace and cooperation between countries and the protection of the environment. They centre on certain themes, including crag development, local ethics and traditions, improving individual performance and environmental
